Kangana still petrified of her parents!

Kangana has come a long way from the hills of Dehradun. Regarded as one of the hottest (and haughtiest) newcomers in Bollywood, she is still a little girl at heart and petrified of her strict parents.

The 20-year-old actress talks about her younger days which were totally influenced by her parents:
"My mom and dad were very strict about what we were doing. I couldn't participate in any cultural or creative activities during my school days and wasn't even allowed to play any games. My parents just wouldn't allow it."

The reason for this strict regime was because Kangana's parents believed if children were going to school to study then there was no use for any other extra-curricular activities. They believed that other activities hindered the academic side of the child.

Says Kangana, "I had never even watched a single movie in my childhood and had to make do with watching film promos on Doordarshan.

"I was bright in my studies and that's how I moved out from Dehradun. I went to Shimla when I was in the sixth standard and it was then that I started to get familiar with people and opened up."

"Now my mom wants to know from where I learnt acting, because she never made any arrangements for my learning! I say that maybe in my past birth I was an actress."

The road wasn't easy for Kanagna who faced opposition from her parents for entering the entertainment profession:

"When I started modeling my parents never supported me. My sister and brother helped me to come up. Maybe we face this problem because there is a generation gap. After my film Gangster's success they started watching my interviews on television and in the newspapers."

Her parents have just started talking to her again but Kangana fears that her relationship will regress due to the gossip and controversies that surround her in the media.

"The first question on my mind is 'What will my parents' reaction be? I know what it will be. "Agar aise hi kam karma hai to kam karne ki koi zarurat nahi ghar pe betho." My parents are so sentimental they do not feel angry or get aggressive but instead they cry."
