 New Delhi (PTI): High on the success of his latest film Fashion, film director Madhur Bhandarkar on Sunday visited the shrine of Vaishnodevi in Jammu and Kashmir. "I am here to thank the Goddess after the success of Fashion. It is the biggest hit of my career. It is a great moment for me," Bhandarkar told PTI over phone. The director said he was slightly apprehensive as the subject of the film was totally different and the film did not have any lead actor in it. "It was a great risk for me to make a film on the background of fashion but I am happy that the public has accepted my film," Bhandarkar said. Read More... |

 The Director who loves to experiment, Madhur Bhandarkar, is releasing his much hyped movie ‘Fashion’ in Dubai before its launch in India. Madhur who loves to portray ‘reality’ and provide a behind-the-scene look, has decided to release it in Dubai first since, he says, “people will be busy in Diwali celebrations here”.  NEW DELHI: A defiant Madhur Bhandarkar on Monday said, "In all my films, the protagonist has been a woman. I will never show women in a derogatory fashion.'' He further questioned, "My films are a combination of real life and fiction. So, should I stop making good cinema?'' The film-maker had come to the Delhi Commission for Women to submit an affidavit denying the allegation that his film "Fashion'', due for release on Wednesday, was based on the life of model Gitanjali Nagpal.  Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has summoned filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar after Kangana Ranaut claimed in an interview that she is portraying the role of former model Gitanjali Nagpal in Bhandarkar’s latest, Fashion . Former model Nagpal was found begging on the streets of south Delhi last year. Bhandarkar has been asked to personally appear before the commission on October 27 for a preview of Fashion before the members of the commission. The film is due for national release next Friday. With Bhandarkar as the film's co-producer, Fashion is heating up well in the market and is seeing good demand amongst the exhibitors.
